Zinnia ‘Oklahoma Scarlet’

Categories: ,

Gorgeous scarlet red double and semi-double blooms atop firm stems, ‘Oklahoma Scarlet’ makes a beautiful cut flower.

Plants will grow to a height of 3 feet and will bloom until frost. They create a striking view from mid-summer through to fall and are usually one of the last flowers to bloom in my garden.

Deadhead spent blooms to encourage continuous flower production.

Growing Information:

Zinnia seeds may be sown indoors to get a headstart on the season or sown directly in the garden.

To start your seeds indoors, sow seeds in cell trays 4 to 6 weeks before the final frost date, one seed per cell at a depth of 1/4 inch. Cover with a plastic propagation dome and set under the grow lights or in your brightest window. Once you see signs of germination, remove the plastic dome. Pot up your zinnia seedlings before they become rootbound into 4-inch pots after the 1st set of true leaves develops. Transplant outdoors after any risk of frost has passed into a full sun location spaced 9 to 12 inches apart. Keep the soil consistently watered until your seedlings are established.

Seeds may be sown in the garden one week before the final frost date, spaced 4 inches apart. Thin out seedlings for a final spacing of 9 to 12 inches apart. Consider transplanting the thinned seedlings into a different location.

Shipping Information

Canadian Shipping

Shipping is calculated at the time of order and is based on the number of seed packets per order. All packages are shipped through Canada Post, and pricing for packages containing seeds are the same for addresses across Canada.

Larger items are calculated by weight and destination and will vary by province.

US Shipping

US seed orders are made at the buyer’s own risk, and we cannot guarantee delivery. We will receive and ship orders but cannot account for the actions of foreign customs, which is the reason for this non-guarantee. Unfortunately, I do not offer phytosanitary certificates, so if the seeds are confiscated or destroyed at the border, your order will not be refunded or reissued.

Non-seed orders are calculated by weight and destination and vary by state.

We cannot ship orders outside of North America.
