The quintessential pear-shaped cherry tomato. 'Yellow Pear' cherry tomato is an heirloom variety that has been around for nearly 200 years! This is one you may find at farmers' markets, gourmet restaurants, and specialty shops. It is worth growing just for the fun of it!

Slice and add to salads, chop for salsa, roast whole, garnish a plate, or have fun with them! The flavour is a good balance of acidity and sweetness. The flesh is yellow. Fruits are approximately 1 to 2 inches in length. When I grew them in the greenhouse, I found that the fruit developed more sweetness than when grown in the garden. Either way, they are delicious.

Plants are vigorous growers and require good staking to support their size. Be sure to control suckers by pruning.

Growing Information:

Start tomato seeds indoors a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks before the final frost date. Please refer to my Seed Starting Calculator for specific planting dates for your planting area.

Tomatoes grow best in full sun and require consistent moisture.

Transplant outdoors after all risk of frost has passed. Space your plants at least 2 feet apart, depending on how well you stake them. Plants are indeterminate and require proper staking to support tall vines. Remove suckers to encourage growth of the main central stem.

Shipping Information

Canadian Shipping

Shipping is calculated at the time of order and is based on the number of seed packets per order. All packages are shipped through Canada Post, and pricing for packages containing seeds are the same for addresses across Canada.

Larger items are calculated by weight and destination and will vary by province.

US Shipping

US seed orders are made at the buyer’s own risk, and we cannot guarantee delivery. We will receive and ship orders but cannot account for the actions of foreign customs, which is the reason for this non-guarantee. Unfortunately, I do not offer phytosanitary certificates, so if the seeds are confiscated or destroyed at the border, your order will not be refunded or reissued.

Non-seed orders are calculated by weight and destination and vary by state.

We cannot ship orders outside of North America.
