Tatsoi is a member of the mustard family. A very mild mustard, it tastes similar to bok choy and can be grown together. Small spoon-shaped leaves grow in a rosette formation, filling out the space as they grow and reaching up to a foot across.
Harvest individual baby leaves, or wait and harvest entire heads once they fill out.
Use tatsoi in stir fries, salads, or soups. Best grown in the spring and fall, similar to all other Asian greens.
Sow seeds indoors at least 4 to 5 weeks before the final frost date, or sow directly 4 weeks before the last frost. For specific planting dates in your area, check out my Seed Starting Calculator. It will help you to plan for your first to last seed sowings of the year.
Days to Maturity: 40 to 45
Packet: 0.5g (approximately 400 seeds)
