A rare purple, sweet bell pepper that will make a statement in your vegetable garden!
Unlike green bell peppers, that have a bland taste and take ages to ripen to their true colour, the lilac pepper changes colour from a pale purple, to a bright, vivid purple-lavender, to a deep, red colour with some purple tones. At all stages of its development, the lilac pepper is edible and tasty. When deep red, it is sweet.
You will find as the season progresses, the lilac peppers will continue to produce fruit. Every nook and cranny will hide a pepper, giving you a continuous harvest.
I definitely recommend Lilac Pepper!
Growing Information:
Start seeds indoors at least 8-10 weeks before the final frost date. Please refer to my Seed Starting Calculator for specific planting dates for your area. Use a heat mat to help speed germination, if the environment is cold.
Peppers prefer to grow in full sun. Transplant outdoors after all risk of frost has passed and space your plants at least 1.5 to 2 feet apart.
If you would like information on saving your own pepper seeds, please see my post "How to Save Pepper Seeds".
