If you’re looking for a sweet, stringless french filet bean, ‘Emerite’ is the one for you!

Bean pods are tender and sweet, delicious eaten fresh off the vine, lightly steamed, stir-fried, chopped fresh into salads and more! I often snacked straight off the vine in the garden, on a hot day. The flavour was sweet, juicy and refreshing!

These french filet beans will grow to a length of 7 inches. Harvest anytime from the smallest, thinnest stage for the most tender french beans, until pods begin to show formation of seeds. But be sure to harvest regularly to encourage continuous bean production.

Grow with Golden French beans for a green and yellow combination.

Growing Information:

Sow beans no earlier than 1 week before the average last frost date. Check out my Seed Starting Calculator for specific planting dates for your area, and to learn the last safe sowing date to achieve a succession crop.

Harvest regularly to encourage a continuous crop. The thinnest bean pods are the tastiest, harvest when they are pencil-thin.

Planting depth: 1 inch
Spacing: 3 to 4 inches apart

Provide a good support structure, as vines will grow long and abundant. Consider sowing a succession crop 2 to 3 weeks after the first sowing.

Days to Maturity: 55

Price: $4.95 each

Packet: 15 g (approximately 45-50 seeds)

Canadian Shipping
Shipping is calculated at the time of order and is based on the number of seed packets per order. All packages are shipped through Canada Post and pricing is the same for addresses across Canada.

Larger items are calculated by weight and destination.

International Orders
International seed orders are made at the buyer’s own risk and we cannot guarantee delivery. We will receive and ship orders, but cannot account for the actions of foreign customs, which is the reason for this non-guarantee. Unfortunately, I do not offer phytosanitary certificates so in the rare chance the seeds are confiscated or destroyed at the border, your order will not be refunded or reissued.

Non-seed orders are calculated by weight and destination.
