Beautiful 1-inch round cherry tomatoes, in a rich chocolate brown/reddish-brown colour. Fruits grow on endless trusses, loaded with fruit.
Flavour is juicy and mildly sweet, perfect for snacking right off the vine or added to a salad.
Fruit is noted as being crack-resistant. In my experience, I didn't see much cracking. To prevent cracking in this variety be sure to harvest fruit before a predicted heavy rain.
I love growing this variety for the flavour and the contrast in colour next to other cherry tomato varieties.
Growing information:
Plants are indeterminate and require good staking to support tall growing vines and trusses laden with fruit.
Start seeds indoors at least 6 - 8 weeks before the final frost date. Please refer to my Seed Starting Calculator for specific planting dates for your area.
Transplant outdoors after all risk of frost has passed and space your plants a minimum of 2 to 3 feet apart, depending on how well you stake them. Be sure to stay on top of removing suckers.
Tomatoes grow best in full sun.
