These calendula flowers have been growing in my garden for many years and have been cross-pollinated by bees, creating the most beautiful colour combinations.
They are edible and may be used in tea, soup and other recipes. Infuse the flowers in olive oil to make a medicinal oil, effective at supporting skin burns, irritations, rashes and more. Also beneficial for the soil, helping to deter nematodes! Cut their long stems and make beautiful cut flowers!
So many amazing reasons to have them growing in your gardens!
Plant after the last spring frost in a full sun location, at a depth of 1/4-1/2 inch, spaced 6-inches apart. Will bloom until frost.
Leave a few flowers to go to seed and they will happily self-sow for year.
