Holiday Gift Guide 2023
Seed sprouter trays are the perfect tool to easily grow your own microgreens. Whether you choose to use soil or not, you have all you need to succeed with these BPA-free, food-grade plastic trays. Each set has no drainage, green bottom trays, and inner mesh white trays. The solid trays act as a base, catching water and containing the plant’s roots. The mesh trays hold seeds, allowing the roots to grow through them. The tight mesh spacing of the inner trays accommodates most seed sizes like peas, sunflowers, brassicas, herbs, grains and more.
To grow your microgreens, evenly sprinkle seeds on the mesh tray, give them a few spritzes of water twice a day, then set them in place under a grow light or next to your brightest window. Within a day or two, you will begin to see seed germination. Once the microgreens grow to your desired height, they are ready for harvest. These trays are a clean and fuss-free way to harvest a crop of microgreens in as little as 1 to 2 weeks!
If you grow in soil, cover the mesh tray with a thin layer of seed starting mix. No rinsing is required with this method. Spray the soil surface daily until germination is visible, and add a thin layer of water to the base tray when it has evaporated. As the plants grow, water will be drawn up through the roots.
Each package includes five mesh planting trays, five bottom trays, and five planting papers. (Paper towels make a good future alternative.)

This is the perfect set to get your sprout on! If you haven’t grown sprouts but always wanted to, this sprouting kit makes it easy.
With sprouts, good hygiene is necessary. Daily rinsing and draining of your sprouting jar is essential to maintaining good hygiene. This is where this sprouting kit comes in! The stands and trays that come with your sprouting jars allow you to properly set your jars on the correct angle for drainage and the trays will catch any water that drips from within.
This kit includes two black shading covers to help blanch your sprouts. Blanching prevents chlorophyll development and also creates a more delicate-tasting sprout. This step isn’t necessary, but the included shading covers make it easy to blanch certain sprouts. For example, if you’d like to grow your own bean sprouts, blanching your mung bean sprouts as they grow is required.
This kit includes two glass jars, two 304-stainless steel germination covers, two filter covers, two shading covers, 2 square drip trays, two stainless steel stands and one cleaning brush.
I have been using these bottle top waterers for years and couldn’t imagine a seed starting season without them! Screw them on a typical plastic water bottle, and you have the most versatile water bottle.
Over the years, I have acquired many of these bottle-top waterers because I like to have several on hand when I need to water my delicate seedlings. The different colours also make it easy to identify the bottle’s contents, whether you like a premixed fertilizer feed or have an on-hand bottle of pest control.
Add these inexpensive bottle-top waterers to a gift box or throw them into a stocking stuffer. I’m sure the gardener in your life will love them!

If you love doing jigsaw puzzles and also love seeds, this puzzle is for you! I finished this exact jigsaw puzzle several Christmases ago and loved it!
This puzzle has that nostalgic feeling for days when seed packets were stunning works of art. Each illustration in this collage of seed packets is a joy to put together. Seal and frame it after completion, or take it apart and do it again in future. The pieces are well-cut and thick, fitting together perfectly. The puzzle itself is of excellent quality.
My Seed Starting Calculator, in Microsoft Excel format, takes the guesswork out of determining the appropriate dates to start your seeds. Select your final frost date from the drop-down boxes, and all the dates for starting every crop indoors or sown directly in the garden will be displayed. This calculator includes most vegetables, herbs and flowers and makes your seed starting schedule clear and straightforward.
I’ve also included a first frost date in the calculator to provide the correct dates for any applicable fall plantings.
Planting dates are displayed in a clear Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Keep your calculator on file and refer to it for all your spring and fall plantings. Feel free to print and laminate it, then keep it where you keep your seeds, records, gardening caddy or anywhere that is most convenient for you.
* Updates to the Seed Starting Calculator will be free for those who purchase the product and create an account.
Preserve your special flowers and plant finds in this beautiful wooden flower press. It’s like placing them in between book pages; only better!
Flower pressing has been in existence since the 16th century. Originating in Japan, it gained wide popularity during the Victorian era. Although flowers can be pressed between the pages of a book, the moisture within the plant material can damage and ruin your favourite pages. In a flower press, special blotting pages are layered in between pieces of dry plates, cardboard and wooden panels to contain and evaporate that moisture while pressing flat and holding your flowers in place. A flower press has many layers so that flowers may be stacked, bolts tightened and left to dry.
It’s a beautiful experience for any avid gardener!
Use dried flowers to make greeting cards, bookmarks, or framed pictures. Add them to homemade soaps, candles and much more!
